About Me

Daniel Marshall is currently in his fifth year of Penn State's Architectural Engineering program. In May 2019, he will graduated with an Integrated Master and Bachelor of Architectural Engineering with a specialization in the Mechanical Option. Daniel is involved in several organizations including the Penn State Student Chapters of ASHRAE, USGBC, and SSAE.

As an intern, Daniel has experience in both electrical and mechanical systems. As an electrical engineering intern (2017) for EwingCole, he worked with a variety of building types (mainly healthcare, education, and technology) to develop effective electrical layouts and load requirements. Following his fourth year, Daniel was a mechanical engineering intern with PAE Consulting Engineers in San Francisco. He worked to maximize the efficiency of buildings through energy modeling and HVAC design. Through LEED Certified Buildings as well as the notoriously strict Title 24 Energy Standards, Daniel learned much about improving the water and energy use of existing buildings as well as new construction.

Outside of class, Daniel enjoys hiking and traveling. During summer 2017, he was selected for the Hong Kong and China study abroad program through which he was able to visit building sites in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen among others. This past summer, Daniel embarked on a cross country road trip visiting numerous national parks throughout Colorado, Utah, and California.

Looking forward, Daniel is hoping to continue to develop skills improving the efficiencies and energy utilization of buildings after graduation.
